The Keys2drive web application was designed for children aged 12 to 14 years interested in learning about the fundamentals of the road system as an introduction to preparations for learning to drive.

The application uses interactive scenarios to help users understand basic road rules and activities to make learning more entertaining.  Children can invite a friend to join them in the virtual environment and they can chat together while online.

To access the application, users are asked to enter a username and password.  To do this, users must have a valid e-mail address.  The username and password can be of their own choosing.  Once they access the application, users are asked to select and customize their character with a variety of choices available for hair colour, clothing, etc.  After they have decided on their character’s attributes, they can use the application.

The application includes a “Report Abuse” feature which users can employ to report inappropriate chat and language.  Those individuals interacting inappropriately can have their user privileges revoked.
